Vehicle License Tax Levied –Vehicle Owners Reminded to Pay by April 30

(Taichung News) The Local Tax Bureau of the Taichung City Government reminds vehicle owners that the 2025 vehicle license tax will be levied starting April 1, with a payment deadline of April 30. Tax bills were sent out in late March, so vehicle owners should check if they have received them and ensure timely payment to avoid penalties.
According to the Local Tax Bureau, taxpayers can still make payments at designated financial institutions or convenience stores (for amounts under NT$30,000) within three days after the payment deadline (i.e., by 24:00 on May 3, 2025). Payments can also be made via ATMs, online, or phone calls using a chip financial card, checking (savings) account, or credit card. While payments made between May 1 and May 3 will not incur a belated surcharge, they will still be classified as overdue.
The Local Tax Bureau added that taxpayers making payments via a credit card, checking (savings) account, or chip financial card can scan the TWQR code on their tax bill using a mobile app to access the online tax payment website. They can also use an e-payment service by scanning the TWQR code or the barcodes on their tax bill. Alternatively, they can visit the Local Tax Bureau’s Local Tax Online Declaration System (https://net.tax.nat.gov.tw), enter their license plate number and ID/Business Registration Number, and pay directly online for a faster and more convenient process.
The Local Tax Bureau reminds that if a tax bill is lost or not received, taxpayers should request a reissue before the deadline through the bureau’s video conference service, the online application service (https://onestop.tax.taichung.gov.tw), or in person at one of its eight branch offices or designated motor vehicle offices.
For any related questions, feel free to call the Local Tax Bureau’s toll-free service hotline at 0800-000321 or 04-22585000 and press 1 to connect to the A++ Station, where dedicated will be available to help.
